Flying In
The nearest airport to the hotel is Stewart International Airport (SWF), which is only 45 minutes away. The following airlines fly into SWF: American Eagle, Comair/Delta Connection, Southeast Airlines, US Airways Express. Most flights connect through Philadelphia, Chicago, Cincinnati, Ft. Lauderdale or Orlando.

The drive from Stewart Airport takes about 45 minutes. There are several national car rental agencies at the airport (including Avis, Hertz, Alamo, Enterprise) and we recommend renting a car. There is also a car service available from the airport; however they are likely to be quite pricey (their number is 845-567-3560).
Of course, you can also fly directly into any New York City area airport and drive from there.

Public Transportation
Short Line Bus has scheduled service from Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC to Kerhonkson (Mountain Division-New York route). There are usually two morning buses and two evening buses. For more information call Short Line bus company at (201) 529-3666.
  Area Attractions (just a few)
While taking a tour of the nine family owned wineries along the Shawangunk Wine Trail, the mountains are always in view. Each small to medium winery is different though they all follow the tradition of the winemaking established by the French Huguenot settlers who brought their wine making expertise to the valley over 300 years ago.

The Mohonk Preserve provides visitors access to 6,500 acres ‚ including cliffs, forests, fields, ponds, and streams ‚ and to a network of over 100 miles of carriage roads and trails for hiking, running, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The internationally renowned "Gunks" cliffs offer over 1,000 technical rock climbing routes. Also, the Mohonk Mountain house is a terrific place for lunch (be prepared for a lot of food)!

Minnewaska State Park is just a few minutes from the hotel on the Shawangunk Mountain ridge that rises more than 2,000 ft. above sea level. The terrain is rugged and rocky, with a dense hardwood forest encircling two lakes. Hiking, biking and horseback riding are very popular activities. Visitors also enjoy swimming, picnicking, boating and marveling at the scenery. Technical rock climbing permitted. Phone: (845) 256-0579
